Nate Pack
Fun, loose, figurative work where bodies are flowing in abstract dimensions. The intriguing exaggerations and distortions give his work a sense of caricature.

Overview:
"Using familiar images from the world of sports, music, and childhood play, Nate Pack takes seemingly entertaining and juvenile images and permeates them with peculiar angles, bold use of color and a profound sense of form. His work is no child's play. While focusing on the figures, Pack crams his arrangements with stylistic charm and pushes the concept of the narrative to a new whimsical dimension. "

Biography
I received my BFA from Utah State University in 1999. Currently I reside in Clinton, Utah with my wife and 5 children. Right now I'm teaching art at a treatment center and am showing my work around the country in galleries and at art festivals. I'm involved in the public art realm and am trying to do freelance illustration as well. I'm an artist who loves many flavors.
I paint the things that are interesting to me personally and just hope others are drawn to these things. My belief is that this is the best way to work in art. Don't paint for others, but paint for yourself and you are bound to connect with people this way. The passion shows through when one paints what is important to them.
My subjects are mostly abstract figures in a very minimalist environment. The lack of environment seems to put more focus on the figures. I have been influenced by the stylized figurative work of Peter Howson, Thomas Benton, and Joe Sorren. Sports figures and musicians allow for interesting composing. I am continuing to push the arrangement in my work.
