The stories of my clients give me a double joy in painting. Here are some of them!
A prominent businessman in my area wanted a painting of poppies for his wife's birthday. He had given her poppies for many year because they are her favorite flower. As his health declined, though, he commissioned a landscape so that she would always have poppies for her birthday!
I have also been able to bring comfort to the grieving. Many times when a death is sudden, the painted image helps to provide closure. It has become a way to keep memories of their loved one alive.
Portraits can also celebrate our most special relationships. Several clients have had portraits from their wedding day. A grandmother had me paint her 12-year-old grand-daughter in a wedding gown because that was this young Down's syndrome child's greatest dream.
