Biography
I graduated from Willamette University with a degree in studio art and art history in 1969. From the mid-1980's to the present I have been painting with oils and have exhibited in national juried competitions including the Salmagundi Club, Oil Painters of America, Berkeley Art Institute to name a few. I am a signature member of the American Impressionist Society (AIS) and have received awards from AIS, Allied Artists of America and local plein air competitions. In the 1990's I participated in the Art in Embassies program with paintings selected to display in the embassies in Yemen, Oman, the Bahamas, El Salvador and the Vatican. Currently I show work on this website and on my daily painting blog .
I enjoy both outdoor and studio painting, having traveled as far as Yunnan Province in China with friends on painting excursions as well as Alaska, the Selkirks of British Columbia, Italy and the Southwest.
I now live with my husband on a cove of Puget Sound and my studio looks out on this small piece of paradise as the tide rises and falls and the light changes as the seasons and weather change in a continual moving drama--a drama perfect for the study of nature.
