As usual, the Winter season in the desert has been wonderful . I am so grateful to those collectors that continue to appreciate my work. I continue to be inspired by the earth's beauty and look forward to each new canvas. This Summer, I will concentrate on an entirely new collection of oil paintings inspired by Oregon and Washington landscape. Please continue letting me know your opinion. I will be waiting to hear your responses. Jackie
J. Lewis Bowker was born Jacqueline Sue Lewis of Long Beach California in 1946. The youngest of three children in a family of very creative people. It was never thought of as a gift among people that just did what they did, curious considering that most people are amazed at creativity. Still it was an everyday act. The thought of going to school to learn such things was not to be heard. Learning was a matter of experience, trial and error. The idea of earning a living by utilizing these abilities was never a consideration.
From this beginning Jackie found her way into the art world. Self taught, always challenging herself was a time consuming process. Yet by the age of 16 she had become an award winning painter. At 18 she married Ned Bowker. A move to Palm Desert California brought many inspirations, five children and the landscape that would soon be her true signiture.
