Biography
I was born in small county in the northwest corner of tennessee, Some of my first memories was of picking cotton into a pillow case, Even then my interest in art began,Although i didn't realize it at that time, i seem to notice things even at that young age that artist notice everyday, Like how the cotton plant was shaped or how the rows would merge at a distance like railroad tracks ,Highlights and shadows in a tractor track, But it wasn't untill i entered the military that my art interest bloomed, I was exposed to works of great artist that i never heard of before, I was amazed, How could they do that, It was like looking into the artist mind and their thought process, I wanted to do that,I put it on the back burner for a few years,but it never left me,The artist in me kept wanting to be born, So one day it was time,But where to start, By this time i had a family and a full time job,So art school was out of the question,First i started reading books and anything to do with art,I decided that paints was the route i wanted to go,So i purchase brushes canvas and paints,I started putting paint on canvas,,,What a mess,,I knew right away that i was going to have to do more then just read books,I started going to local art fairs and shows, Talking to the artist,watching them paint and studying their work, Practice,practice and practice made more messes threw away more canvas,After years of that i thought i was good enough to enter my first show,To my surprise i won best of show,That really encouraged me,I enter more shows and taking the first,second and third place awards, Then and only then i thought that maybe i could wear the title of artist,I wear that title today with pride,I still work toward being the best artist i can be, Today my paintings hang in private and corporate collections nationally and internationally.
