Described as a Romantic Impressionist, I use landscapes, seascapes, and water scapes to evoke memories of places seen or perhaps dreamed about. The mountains, the streams, the coastal areas are vast resources for my scenes, and work to create a mood or a feeling with color, value, and contrast. I have lived in Colorado, Missouri, Connecticut, and now North Carolina - all providing material for paintings. European travel is a favorite for inspiration. Florals and still life paintings are also in my portfolio.
In my new series I have included paintings of wineries, vineyards, and cottages. Enjoy!
As a commissioned artist, I do work from the clients' requests, sometimes using their favorite photo or place to create a very personal piece. I also do pet portraits, capturing the spirit of the animal.
I teach oil painting, with private and workshop settings.
