Biography

Carol McGill "painting in the Spirit"
"As an experimenter with a distinctive style, I owe inspiration to Matisse for creative imagery and to Monet for plein air subtleties. Creating colors of high contrast, as employed by van Gogh, is part of my process. Whatever the subject, lush oils are manipulated with a knife to create a work of passion and movement that I hope brings JOY. My studio exploration may begin with layers of paint or sheer brushwork moving forward to an almost abstract subject. After fifteen years developing my vision, my goal is to allow God's natural beauty to fill me and "Spirit to blossom."
