Alaska was a Russian Colony until March 1867 when it was purchased by the United States. There is still a large Russian influence in Alaska, and the model for this painting is but one example. We are honoured to announce that this painting was a finalist for July 2008 at Raymar.com and was accepted into the American Impressionist Society's 9th Annual National Juried Exhibition.
