I just read the newsletter by Robert Genn discussing CI, "creative intelligence". I cannot recall a better term for "what we know" and or "what we know how to do". Better still, striving for a higher degree of "creative intelligence" would be the summation of one's painting career. It is what we do in constantly reaching for excellence in knowledge, technique, and our artistic career. And yet, we all realize that goals are constantly reset and we will always be reaching......
Collectors Say:
"Colors that blend and flow to form an intricate style....We just love the presentation of your work. Thanks for the creation we will enjoy for years to come.

Biography
LaNell N. Arndt, a native Texan, is a signature member of American Impressionist Society, and a signature member of Oil Painters of America and Outdoor Painters Society.
The discovery of painting from life, many painting trips with artist friends, and the pure enjoyment of the outdoor landscape are the foundation of works created. Finding the incredible lights and shadows as they appear all around us are inspiration for the next painting "en plein air".
I have painted all over Texas, many places in the U.S. and in Spain, France and the Netherlands, but am aware that each new day brings another source of light and energy for painting our of doors". Larger pieces are created in the studio working from outdoor sketches. When at home on a miniature donkey and cattle ranch near Brenham with husband, Bob, I often just paint "my backyard".

Upcoming Workshops
Plein Air Landscapes on a Texas Ranch(0) Wenmohs Ranch, Spicewood Texas 4/27/2010-4/29/2010
The workshop will open with an demo on the evening before the workshop begins. I will use color notes, outdoor studies to design and compose a painting in the evening demo. This will be a fun filled evening and time will be allowed for discussion.
There will be, of course, a quick outdoor demo at the beginning of each day of class.
At the end of the second day of study, I will demo an abstracted landscape. This is always an interesting twist to the Texas Landscape workshop, but gives the workshop attendees another way of seeing the outdoor landscape. As our setting will be Texas Hill Country, we will be creating painting from our surroundings. Spring colors in the landscape are challenging, but fun to paint and we will have a morning outdoor painting session and move indoors to work a larger studio work from our morning study.
Three full days of painting and if there is an opportunity for a beautiful sunset painting, we will certainly not let that pass.
